Tuya announces paid subscription
Chinese cloud service TuyaSmart has announced a paid subscription for its users. From now on, to fully use the service, owners of solutions based on the TuyaSmart service will have to pay from 16Е per year. There is currently a discount on the subscription, without it the estimated cost of the latter will be 47Е per year.
It cannot be said that this is an unaffordable amount, but most users of equipment built on these radio modules were counting on free use.
This innovation will not affect all users, but only those who use certain cloud functionality. The list of which is indicated in the screenshot:
So as expected: another cloud solution, having “baited” the client, went the way of commercial analogues. This is an expected innovation, since this is how the IOT market works. That is why we always advise you to pay attention to alternative, local solutions that you can control yourself. After all, in this case, it is possible to make equipment with Tuya chips work on a local server, without using cloud services.
